no olvidemos los principios B Á S I C O S ...

algunos quotes que lo respaldan:

An open wound in the vicinity of a patellar fracture may be a sign of an open fracture, which is a surgical emergency... should be treated with immediate débridement and irrigation(Campbell)

Non-operative treatment is generally possible in the case of closed, non-displaced fractures with an intact extensor mechanism … Open fractures are generally emergenci cases an require surgery as soon as possible. Débridement of contused on contaminated soft tissue should be combined with irrigation…(AO)

Any lacerations must be assumed to communicate with the joint… (University of California at San Diego)

Occasionally, a laceration may be noted in proximity to a patella fracture. It may represent an open fracture or an open-joint injury. Because both are surgical emergencies, it is imperative to diagnose these injuries early (Skeletal Trauma)

An open fracture of the patella is a surgical emergency and requires surgical debridement within 6 to 8 hours. Delays in treatment can lead to infection at the fracture site and the knee joint (Rockwood)
